Beautiful Books Nov 2017

Now that Nanowrimo is more than half way through, I am sitting at 30,000 words. I could still win this if I hustle. So wish me luck, I’m ignoring the pile of books that I have to review right now. 20,000 more words to home game baby!

You can get these questions from Paperfury, or FurtherupFurtherIn. Don’t copy and paste mine, because then you have to erase the answers.

Overall, how is your mental state, and how is your novel going?

Stressed not because of the novel writing, but because I have to kill off someone and I don’t know how.

What’s your first sentence (or paragraph)?

“Hand me the coffee and no one gets hurt.”

Who’s your current favourite character in your novel?

Favourite: none.

What do you love about your novel so far?

These people seem to be defying my godly plans for them. One just got himself killed for no reason at all! I wonder if I should resurrect him or make another person do his job.

Have you made any hilarious typos or other mistakes?

I am sure that there are many mistakes, and hilariously bad typos, but I haven’t found any.

What is your favourite to write: beginning, middle, or end — and why?

I have to say that the end is my favourite, because I can finally end this.

What are your writing habits? Is there a specific snack you eat? Do you listen to music? What time of day do you write best? Feel free to show us a picture of your writing space!

I am writing now, because I can only write in peace when my kids are asleep. Got a new rig for my writing space! A nice Ryzen 7 ^_^ .

How private are you about your novel while you’re writing? Do you need a cheer squad or do you work alone (like, ahem, Batman)?

I’m Batman.

What keeps you writing even when it’s hard?

Habit, like going to the gym

What are your top 3 pieces of writing advice?

  1. Find what works
  2. Collaborator is fun, but of course you need to be on the same wavelength/ understanding
  3. Write first, fix later

  1. It’s crazy when characters take on a life (or in this case, death,) of there own! It can be really awesome and sometimes frustrating, but mostly awesome. Good luck with your story! I hope you reach your goal! I love the first sentence, by the way. 🙂
