L’Oréal Paris Nude Magique Blur Cream is not a BB Cream

Sad to say, it does not have all the magical effects of a BB Cream (BB means beauty base or blemish balm depending on which country you are in). The L’Oréal Paris Nude Magique Blur Cream only does what it says on the label: blurring your pores for a smooth effect. Which means, if your face has redness or a massive eye bags, this is not going to help one bit. Thankfully I didn’t buy this, or else I would be slightly disappointed. For small imperfections, this does help smooth things over.

But if you want a nude look without too much foundation, this can help. Basically what it does is just cover up big pores, and works as a primer. There are a few things that I do not like about this blur cream.

It’s Not Magique

There is nothing magical about this cream, just a silicone based tinted cream.

The one I have is a light to medium swatch, though it looks like a match, close up it is not. The Magique Blur is more orange than skin toned, and feels oily when you smooth it out. The cream is not oily though, just the feeling of silicone smoothing over the skin. I know some people do not like that odd feeling, so keep that in mind. Another thing that I do not really like, is that it does not stay on my face for very long.

If I wear it alone, without the Maybelline Fit Me Matte and the Master Fix, the cream would only last a few hours. Then my face will become oily, greasy and looked like I’ve been outside for a day. Since I know that the foundation and fix works, this fails miserably in the lasting effect.

Effect Good?

I am happy with the initial results, this is before my foundation and everything. As you can see, my skin does look “poreless” and this is not photoshopped. You can still see puffy eye bags, and the little redness the cream failed to cover. Once I put the additional layer of foundation, it was actually a lot better.

Too bad it didn’t last long though.

  1. yeah, probably not for me either. I need something that will at least get me through a work day without making it look worse in a few hours. Thanks for sharing your notes on this one, Ailyn!
