Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation Review

Maybelline New York Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation Makeup

This Fit Me from Maybelline New York is a lightweight foundation, formulated for normal to oily skin, or someone with combination skin like mine. It boasts to look like you have flawless skin, with technology to smooth over pores. The Fit Me also has texture- fitting to match the skin tone for a more natural matte finish.

For half the price at AUD 8, the Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless might be promising on things that it might not be able to deliver. At the moment, I am using BB cream by Laneige, but the coverage is weak, suitable for days that it does not matter even if I don’t have any makeup on.

According to the consultant at the pharmacy, I’m a 122. Given that it was a half price sale, I bought it. Though I had my reservations, since I didn’t actually need a new foundation. Maybe I do need one, but I didn’t want one. Fair to say that I don’t fancy getting makeup all over clothing, not mine but my kids. The Brats love rubbing themselves all over me, including my face.

It feels like a waste of money and effort, putting makeup on and then getting them wiped off in an hour. Not to mention having to waste dirty clothes full of stains.

Work Look with Maybelline Fit Me Matte

Work look in 3 minutes?

Lipstick and Eye brow pencil are by L’Oreal, no eye shadow I can’t be bothered yet. Sleeping is still important to me, so I’d gladly do less for more zzz’s. Instead of powder, I used Maybelline Master Fix setting spray. So far I am liking the spray, but I do miss the powder sometimes.

Verdict

Comparing this with the BB Cream, the matte and poreless is better in one important aspect: mattifying. My face remained matte looking for almost eight hours, which is pretty awesome for someone whose foundation would have run off/ melted after three hours.

If you are wondering if it is the foundation or the spray, I can safely say that the spray only holds the foundation in place. In a way, I do like using the foundation at work, because the shine makes me look messy. My only gripe is that I should have bought other formulations. However, with the liquid I don’t have to clean tools as I have disposable sponges, easy to maintain at the moment.

For a drug store brand, the Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless does meet my expectations. The color matches perfectly well, and it does not make me look odd or too pale. I would recommend this if you are looking for a steal foundation. For a splurge, I still go back to M. A. C. Studio, which is a lot nicer to use still. Maybe one day I’ll try other brands like La Mer or YSL, which seems to have a big fan base.
