Shea Moisture Coconut Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie

Shea Moisture Coconut Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie

Shea Moisture Coconut Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie was a birthday present, even though it was not Princess Brat’s birthday. Firstly, I apologise because Prince caught Covid, and he gave it to me, so I ended up not writing for so long. I have been using this smoothie mainly on Princess, because it is more obvious.

What’s in it?

The Main ingredients for this Shea Moisture is coconut juice. It has coconut oil, neem oil and shea butter. The ingredients also listed macadamia, avocado oil, carrot seed oil and aloe barbandensis. And some hibiscus and silk protein at the near end of the list. They also added fragrance in the mix, but the coconut smell still comes through, mixed in with the sweet smell of the perfume, but I am not a fan.

This brand uses fair trade shea butter, which is always a good reason to buy it. The brand also says that the smoothie is colour safe.

I’m not going to lie, Princess Brat’s hair can be a little tricky to manage, because she does not like to comb her hair. Her hair is a puff of curls and she looks like Einstein in the mornings. At the moment she does not care about it, but since it’s a present I might as well let her try it right?

Does Shea Moisture Coconut Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie Work?

First of all, I dislike the texture of the smoothie. The emulsion is sticky, and when I rub it against my fingers, they have an oily feel to it. Then, after applying, it feels more like a waxy finish rather than a smooth feel.

However, with a little combing after applying the smoothie, Princess Brat lost her curls. That makes me a little…. confused. It’s a curl enhancing smoothie, but her curls just turns into waves! Comparing with theĀ Schwarzkopf BC Bonacure Hyaluronic Moisture Kick Spray Conditioner 200ml, the curl smoothie is not that friendly to use, and definitely does not have the results that I want. Her hair still tangles and now I lost her curls.

Verdict

If it is not a present, I doubt I would have purchased it. The Shea Moisture Coconut Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie might sound good on paper, but I am not sure if I see any enhanced curls after use. Fortunately, this is quite a large jar and will last awhile. I might just steal some for my own hair.
